The provision of an archival repository for the personal papers of lesbians and gay men, the archives of lesbian and gay organisations and for related documents of historical interest. LAGANZ is a registered charitable trust, governed by its own board, located within the Alexander Turnbull Library.

MHERC’s website and free public library contain up to date information on a wide range of mental health topics and services. Books, DVD’s, CDs, video tapes and audio tapes are available for loan to the people of Canterbury, either by visiting the Centre in person or through our free postal service. Hours: 9am–4.30pm Monday to Friday.

We offer free counselling, a drop-in, low-cost courses, crisis support, information on other services and lesbian specific information. Our library has a huge selection of lesbian novels, and books on lesbian issues. The ‘lesbian support’ page on our website includes the ‘lesbian notices’ with info on events, social groups etc.
